Sonokeling Rosewood six pack 50 x 26mm with lengths averaging 650mm
Dalbergia latifolia sourced from Java
800kg/m3
Photo is of typical pieces.
This is the 'B' grade stock left over after supplying to the tool trade for guages and squares. There will be occasional sap, small knots, tiger claw, and other minor defects here and there.
Sonokeling is deep purple brown, reddish brown, sometimes greenish brown, more or less striped, hard and heavy. It is the same tree as Indian rosewood but differs, presumably because of it's plantation origins, in having a broader colour range and being a little less hard and dense.
Kiln dried
All Dalbergia species are CITES listed and require a special permit for export. We regret that for practical reasons we are not able to supply this item outside the UK.
