Dull brown when freshly cut quickly turning to an amazing deep purple on exposure. We buy selectively to ensure the most intense colouration. Reputed to go brown over time, this is certainly the case but the process is really quite slow and the wood stays purple for many years.Popular for woodturning, archery bows and for detail in cabinet work.
